What is the Angel Fund?
Financial demands of providing excellent care for our dogs and cats each year, combined with the extra cost of special veterinary treatments, limit our ability to meet unique medical needs. The Angel Fund was established by PAWS Humane Center as a way to cover expenses for treatment above and beyond the regular veterinary services animals receive while in our care.
Animals come in that require special treatment or surgeries, which may be from being abused, being hit by a car, or birth defects that require special surgeries.
George is one of many animals, which has come to us in need of some extra attention. At the end of January he went to get his bilateral entropion repair on both his eyes. He stayed in foster until he was better and ready to be adopted. George is now happy in his furever home.
Pixie and Tinkerbelle came into the shelter by no fault of their own. Pixie required 2 hernia surgeries. They stayed in foster until their adoption in May to a loving home! Pixie is now Piper! Tinkerbell is now Willow!

Other Ways to Give
Kuranda Dog and Cat Bed
We have chosen Kuranda beds because they are of good quality, cost effective, and comfortable. Even though these beds are sturdy, they need to be replaced on a regular basis throughout the year due to general wear and tear. PAWS Humane Center is always in need of dog and cat beds! If you would like to donate a bed to provide comfort for our shelter friends, you can have a Kuranda bed sent directly to PAWS Humane Center.
Kroger’s Community Rewards
You can help PAWS earn money to care for Dearborn County’s homeless animals just by using your Kroger Plus Card every time you shop. You won’t spend a penny more than you normally would. Every time you use your Kroger Plus Card, Kroger will make a donation to PAWS. Just a couple of easy steps on line by registering your Kroger Plus Card, enrolling in Kroger Community Rewards and linking PAWS’s unique organization number.
It’s easier than it looks! If you have any questions, please call Pat Hawkins at (812) 537-9870.
